For, had she not been so very resolute in her refusal to speak to him after an off-season’s worth of unanswered letters, it was wholly possible that – after having overheard his mother lamenting both the state of the Featherington baronry and the effects of Lady Featherington’s now rather indiscreet baby race on Penelope’s chances at a felicitous (if practical) match – Colin would have acted far more rationally than to orchestrate a not-so-clandestine, not-so-very-appropriate, and also not-at-all-truthful midnight tryst between them in the orangery at Vauxhall Gardens.

I can’t speak for Lorna, but I know her well. IMO, she left because years and years of gaslighting was seriously affecting her mental health. She was very outspoken and felt very strongly about Harry and Louis communicating with fans (in particular because she had a very meaningful interaction with Harry at a show in 2015).
Seeing Harry and Louis seemingly switch from actively fighting against their closet, to accepting aspects of it and start “playing the game,” was really hard on a lot of people.
Deleting her blog was the only way for her to ensure she wouldn’t be back. She needed to cut it off completely (even going as far as covering up her fandom tattoos).
If it had anything to do with Harry’s comment, it would have just been a final straw that was a very long time in the making.
